Direct and Indirect Speech
Direct Speech:
When we repeat exact words spoken by someone, using quotation marks.
Example:
Sarah said, "I love ice cream."
Indirect Speech (Reported Speech):
When we report what someone said without using their exact words. We usually change verb tenses, pronouns, and time expressions.
Example:
Sarah said that she loved ice cream.
